Trip Insurance
Why Get Trip Insurance?
We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance to provide a buffer against life's uncertainties. Family emergencies, severe illnesses, injuries, natural disasters, and a whole host of other unpredictable circumstances can restrict your ability to travel. Our tours are very active adventures, and even minor injuries can prevent your trip from happening.
Our terms and conditions were created with the intention of utilizing trip insurance. When you book one of our tours, that space is no longer available and we start turning away other potential guests. Therefore, if you find yourself unable to travel, a refund is not offered. With a trip insurance policy, both your payment to us and your other travel costs can be insured.
Note: Most trip insurance providers will require you to get a policy within 20 days of your initial payment or deposit.
How Do I Get Trip Insurance?
1
Gather Your Trip Details
Start by collecting your trip dates, destination, total trip cost, and any prepaid, non-refundable expenses. Think about any personal needs such as medical coverage, evacuation coverage, or protection for adventure activities.
2
Compare Plans Online
Visit a reputable travel insurance provider’s website or use a comparison tool to explore multiple plans. Enter your trip information to view accurate quotes and review coverage details like cancellation, interruption, medical benefits, and baggage protection. Make sure the policy supports adventure or backcountry activities if needed.
3
Select the Best Plan
Choose the plan that fits your needs and budget. During checkout, you’ll enter traveler information and payment details. Before purchasing, read the fine print carefully—especially exclusions, deadlines, and cancellation terms.
4
Review and Save Your Policy
After purchasing, you’ll receive your policy documents by email. Save them in an accessible location and consider printing a copy to bring on your trip. Keep the insurer’s customer service contact handy in case you need help or need to file a claim.
