Itinerary
Day 1

Your winter adventure begins with a visit to Travelers’ Rest State Park, where you’ll snowshoe through quiet cottonwood forests to the only archaeologically verified Lewis & Clark campsite. Along the way, your guide will share stories of the Corps of Discovery’s winter passage through the Bitterroot Valley, bringing the landscape’s history to life.
A hot trail lunch is served on-site to keep everyone warm and energized. In the afternoon, you’ll continue following in the footsteps of the expedition with a relaxing soak at Lolo Hot Springs—an authentic mineral spring specifically mentioned in Meriwether Lewis’ journal. After unwinding in the warm pools, the group returns to Missoula for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant before settling in for the night.
Day 2

Spend a serene winter day gliding along the groomed Nordic trails of Seeley Lake, where quiet forests and wide-open views create the perfect backdrop for cross-country skiing. After a refreshing morning on the snow, enjoy a cozy lunch in the heart of Seeley Lake, warming up with local flavors and hot beverages.
In the afternoon, settle in for a scenic drive back to your hotel in Missoula, followed by a restorative hour to shower, relax, or sneak in a quick nap. The day ends with a flavorful dinner at one of Missoula’s standout restaurants, celebrating the best of Montana’s culinary highlights.
Day 3

The final day begins early with a drive into the heart of the Bitterroot Valley for a snowshoe outing at the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge. This peaceful winter haven offers outstanding opportunities for spotting raptors, waterfowl, white-tailed deer, and other wildlife, and binoculars are provided to help you make the most of the morning’s sightings.
After taking in the refuge’s frosty wetlands and mountain-framed views, the group continues to Stevensville for a farewell lunch at a local restaurant. The trip concludes with a relaxing drive back to Missoula, returning to the hotel in the early afternoon.
